Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party Street Closure and Transit Reroute

Winnipeg, MB – Southbound Donald Street between Portage Avenue and St. Mary Avenue will be closed to accommodate the Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party, along with associated set-up and take-down, from 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 13 until 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14.

Motorists should allow additional travel time to get to their destinations, and use alternate routes such as Main Street and Osborne Street.

As a result of the street closure, the Donald Street entrance to and exit from the Millennium Library Parkade will not be accessible from 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 13 until 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14. All vehicles will need to enter and exit through the Smith Street entrance. Patrons of the Millennium Library should also be advised that the Millennium Library will be closing early, at 5:00 p.m., on Friday, April 13.

Winnipeg Transit buses will be rerouted off of Graham Avenue from Carlton Street to Smith Street on Friday, April 13 beginning at 5:30 p.m. and will return to their regular routes at 11:30 p.m. to accommodate an expected increase in pedestrian traffic.

Bus Stops along Graham Avenue eastbound between Hargrave Street and Smith Street will be temporarily relocated to northbound Smith Street at Graham Avenue. Bus stops along westbound Graham Avenue between Smith Street and Edmonton Street will be temporarily relocated to St. Mary Avenue at Donald Street and to Edmonton Street at Graham Avenue.

The Handi-Transit loading zone on southbound Donald Street at Graham Avenue will be temporarily relocated to eastbound Portage Avenue next to the Radisson Hotel, and in front of the Winnipeg Police Service Headquarters.
