Winnipeg, MB - At an event this morning, Councillor Brian Mayes officially opened the new Shirley Render Park. Located at 185 River Road, the former landfill site is named after former St. Vital MLA Shirley Render.

“Shirley Render served St Vital well as an MLA and Cabinet Minister,” said Brian Mayes, City Councillor for St. Vital. “I am pleased to join with her to honour her service with this park naming.”

Shirley Render Park features new signage and bench seating, and will have a pathway installed next year. The project was funded by the City of Winnipeg’s Land Dedication Reserve in the amount of $3,000.
