Delays possible for recycling, garbage and yard waste collection

Winnipeg, MB - The City is advising residents that recycling, garbage and yard waste collection service may be delayed in some neighbourhoods due to issues with the contractor’s trucks.

Collection will continue over the weekend to complete delayed collection. Residents are encouraged to check City of Winnipeg - Collection Status or contact 311, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by phone or by email at , for updates on the status of their collection.

Recycling, garbage and yard waste will be collected as normally scheduled on the Canada Day long weekend for those with Monday as their collection day.

The City would like to thank residents for their patience as we work with the contractor to correct the delays.

Wednesday, June 28 Collection

  • Recycling collection is delayed up to one day.
  • Garbage collection is complete.
  • Yard waste collection is delayed up to one day.

If yesterday (Wednesday) was your collection day and your carts or yard waste were not picked up by 6 p.m. today (Thursday), please call 311 to report a missed pick up.

Thursday, June 29 Collection

  • Recycling collection is expected to be delayed up to one day.
  • Garbage collection is expected to be on schedule.
  • Yard waste collection is expected to be delayed up to one day.

If today (Thursday) is your collection day, please leave your carts and yard waste out until 10 p.m. tonight. If your carts or yard waste have not been collected by 10 p.m. tonight (Thursday), please put them away and then place them out by 7 a.m. tomorrow morning (Friday).

Friday Collection

  • Recycling collection is expected to be delayed up to one day.
  • Garbage collection is expected to be on schedule.
  • Yard waste collection is expected to be delayed up to one day.

If Friday is your collection day, please leave your carts and yard waste out until 10 p.m. Friday. If your carts or yard waste have not been collected by 10 p.m. please put them away and then place them out by 7 a.m. Saturday.

If your carts and yard waste are not picked up by 6 p.m. Saturday, please call 311 to report a missed pick up.
