Seven Oaks Pool temporarily closed for renovations beginning April 2, 2017

Released: March 27, 2017 at 1 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB - The Seven Oaks Pool will be closed to the public for facility upgrades beginning on April 2, 2017. Upgrades are expected to be complete in mid-2018.

Facility renovations include new family change rooms, universally-accessible washrooms, an enhanced public lobby, a new meeting space, a small teach pool, and a new indoor spray pad - the first of its kind in Winnipeg.

As announced in July 2015, the project will be receiving Canada 150 funding from the Government of Canada, as well as Building Communities II Initiative funding from the City of Winnipeg and the Province of Manitoba for a total funding commitment of over $8 million.

Additional swimming lessons have been added to North Centennial Recreation and Leisure Facility as an alternative to the Seven Oaks Pool temporary closure. Other swim opportunities, including the Learn to Swim program, will be available at other indoor pools across the city. For more information on nearby indoor pools, outdoor pools, wading pools and spray pads, please see City of Winnipeg - Recreation & Leisure or contact 311 by phone at 311 or by email at .
