Reminder: Residential Parking Ban in effect until Sunday at 7:00 p.m.

Released: December 10, 2016 at 6:30 a.m.
Residential streets in snow zones E, H, K, O and S will be plowed from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. today

Winnipeg, MB - The Residential Parking Ban remains in effect until Sunday evening. Plowing will take place on residential streets in snow zones E, H, K, O and S starting at 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. today.

Residents are urged to move their vehicles when their residential street is scheduled for plowing. This will help the snow clearing operation run smoothly and will prevent you from being ticketed and towed. Citizens are encouraged to visit knowyourzone.winnipeg.ca, use the Know Your Zone app or contact 311 to confirm their snow zone letter.

Missed residential streets
If some streets in a snow zone have been missed or only partially cleared, crews will return in the coming days to address outstanding snow clearing requirements. In the meantime, residents can park on their street since the Residential Parking Ban only applied during the scheduled 12-hour period. When plowing crews return, no additional parking restrictions will be imposed. However, residents are still encouraged to move their vehicles should they notice that their street is about to be plowed.

Avoid a ticket and tow
Vehicles parked in violation of the Residential Parking Ban may receive a $150 ticket ($75 if paid early), and may be towed to a nearby street that is not scheduled to be plowed, or has already been cleared. If you believe your vehicle may have been towed due to the Residential Parking Ban, please contact 311 for assistance in locating it.

Think safety this winter - Stay Back, Stay Safe
Approximately 400 - 450 pieces of heavy equipment will be used for this snow clearing operation so motorists are reminded to drive to winter road conditions at all times and to use extreme caution when driving near any plowing or sanding equipment.
