Work Begins on Sturgeon Road Twin Bridges over Sturgeon Creek

Winnipeg, MB - On Monday, May 2, repair work will begin on the Sturgeon Road Twin Bridges over Sturgeon Creek. Repairs will be made to the northbound bridge deck, and final landscape restoration will be completed. All work is scheduled to be completed by the end of July 2016.

The bridge deck repairs are warranty work due to the premature deterioration of the concrete. All costs under this warranty work will be assumed by the contractor that performed the original work.

Repair work related to the March 28, 2014 water main break were undertaken last year, and remaining work is mainly landscape restoration that was not completed then.

A minimum of one lane of traffic in each direction on Sturgeon Road from Portage Avenue to Booth Drive and access to the Grace Hospital will be open at all times.Motorists are advised to allow for additional travel time or to use alternate routes in this area to reach their destinations.
