Released: April 28, 2016 at 12:32 p.m.
Thursday, May 12 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB - Winnipeggers are invited to an open house about the Lyndale Drive retaining wall, between Monck Avenue and Gauvin Street, which is nearing the end of its life cycle and requires rehabilitation or replacement. The purpose of this study is to develop a preliminary design that will stabilize the Lyndale Drive riverbank and protect the City’s flood defenses, utilities, and roadway infrastructure from riverbank movements.

With community input and further analysis, the City of Winnipeg and consultant team have refined a selection of design and stabilization techniques for this section of riverbank, including new active transportation facilities. At the open house, there will be an opportunity to review and provide feedback on three design concepts.
