Winnipeg, MB - The final report on the 2016 Budget Consultations, compiling the feedback and preferences of those participating in this year's budget consultation process, is now available on the City of Winnipeg's website.
This year's consultation process focused on understanding Winnipeggers priorities and preferences as they relate to City of Winnipeg spending. This process was designed to be a first step in a new way of working together with the public, and also gathered input and feedback on how to build and enhance future budget consultation processes.
This year's consultation commenced on Monday, November 30, 2015 and ended Friday, December 18, 2015, with multiple opportunities to participate including online at www.letstalkwpg.ca. Through various online tools, the public was able to examine areas where the City of Winnipeg currently spends taxpayer dollars, and then provide feedback on their priorities and preferences. Additionally, electronic kiosks were available in public facilities to allow those without access to a computer to participate, and Let's Talk team members visited locations around Winnipeg to solicit feedback in person.
The consultation process engaged a total of 2,500 participants, recorded 3,700 visits to the Let's Talk website, and over 670 budget ideas were submitted.
