New taxi and rideshare loading zones coming to downtown

Taking a taxi or rideshare to the game or show? We’re introducing new loading zones downtown to make it easier to get dropped off or catch your ride home.

Starting January 17, the zones will be located on:

  • Notre Dame Avenue between Donald Street and Smith Street (near Burton Cummings Theatre)
  • Eastbound Portage Avenue between Carlton Street and Hargrave Street (near Canada Life Centre)
  • Donald Street between Graham Avenue and St Mary Avenue (near Canada Life Centre)

“Taxi and rideshare loading zones offer a convenient pickup option for drivers and passengers,” said Grant Heather, our manager of Vehicles for Hire.

“They also help improve safety and reduce roadway and curbside congestion near busy event venues.”

Parking won't be allowed in these zones from 5:30 p.m. to 2 a.m., seven days a week. The zones will convert to regular on-street parking outside of these hours. Payment is required starting at 9 a.m. on weekdays (and Saturdays if you’re parking for over two hours).

Always confirm your pickup location with your taxi or rideshare provider.
