Eligible voters turned out in record numbers to take advantage of advance voting opportunities across the city.

There were 41,895 advance votes cast in the 2022 Municipal and School Boards Election. This is a 5.1% increase from the 39,840 electors who voted at advance polls in 2018, when the previous advance voting record was set.

Advance voting locations were available across the city from October 3 – 21 in malls, universities, seniors’ residences, hospitals, and other convenient locations.

“Every election, our goal is to streamline the process, reduce wait times, and improve service for people casting a ballot,” said Marc Lemoine, City of Winnipeg Senior Election Official.

Lemoine is encouraging all eligible voters who have not yet voted to cast their ballots on Election Day, Wednesday, October 26. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voter’s notices outlining designated election day voting locations have been mailed to all registered voters. Residents are encouraged to bring their notice with them when they head to their designated voting location. Voters can also find their election day voting location on our website.

Voters are required to bring valid identification that shows their name and current home address - such as a driver’s license - when they head to the polls. In the absence of a driver's license or enhanced identification card, any two documents that together show the voter's name and current home address will also be accepted.
