City of Winnipeg ready to begin snow clearing operations in anticipation of forecasted snowfall

Winnipeg, MB - City of Winnipeg snow clearing crews are monitoring a weather system expected in the Winnipeg area later this evening and are at the ready to begin snow clearing operations.

Today, sanding operations will be carried out for Priority 1 (regional) and Priority 2 (collector/bus routes) until further notice. Maintenance sanding on bridge decks and overpasses is being applied this morning. City of Winnipeg snow disposal sites are open and available for public use; for site locations and further information, please visit City of Winnipeg - Snow Disposal Sites.

Citizens are urged to use caution around snow clearing equipment.

Citizens are reminded that the Annual Snow Route Parking Ban remains in effect daily on streets designated as snow routes from 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. until March 1, 2015.

Plowing operations are being completed in accordance with the City Council-approved Snow Clearing and Ice Control Policy, which can be found online at City of Winnipeg - Snow Clearing Policy.
