Winnipeg, MB - Recycle your real Christmas tree for free by taking it to one of the 11 Let’s Chip In depots, open December 27, 2014, to January 20, 2015.
All plastic tree bags, tinsel, decorations, and tree stands must be removed before leaving a tree at a depot.
Residents are welcome to help themselves to free wood chips, which will be available at all depots in early January (while quantities last). Please bring your own container.
Residents are reminded that trees placed at the curb next to recycling or garbage carts will not be collected.
Winnipeg residents recycled 12,841 trees last season. Keeping Christmas trees out of our landfills means that the trees will continue to be a valuable resource.
