Winnipeg, MB - The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and Winnipeg Police Service are reminding residents to be cautious around ice-covered bodies of water including rivers, streams, creeks, ponds, and ditches.
As winter weather arrives and temperatures drop, ice will begin to form on all open bodies of water, creating extremely dangerous conditions.
As of October 31, 2014, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service has received 86 calls related to water and ice safety.
