Smartlocker offers expanded hours for library patrons to pick up their hold items

Winnipeg, MB - Library customers are now able to choose whether they want to pick up their holds on books, movies, music or other library materials in-person inside the library or via the new Smartlocker, located in the lobby of the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex.

The Smartlocker will allow library customers to access their holds before or after the Library’s regular hours. Early morning and late evening workouts at the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex can now include a quick visit to the Smartlocker to pick up their library holds. A customer simply scans his or her library card at the Smartlocker to receive the hold item. The Smartlocker unit will check out and release items with the option of either a printed due date receipt or an emailed receipt.

When customers place holds on library items, they must choose whether they wish to pick them up in the Library itself, or at the new Smartlocker. Both choices are available as options through the library’s self-service online catalogue or when placing holds in-person with library staff.

The West End Library, located at 999 Sargent Avenue, is open:
Mondays: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
