Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Consol Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 5:41 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a bungalow in the 900 block of Consol Avenue.

When crews arrived on-scene, they encountered smoke coming from the building. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 6:15 a.m.

Two residents self-evacuated with their pet prior to crew arrival. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Troy Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 8:43 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a three-storey apartment building in the 1000 block of Troy Avenue.

When crews arrived on-scene, they encountered fire coming from the building. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 9:17 a.m. The fire was contained to the suite of origin.

Occupants of the impacted suite self-evacuated prior to crew arrival. No injuries were reported.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire at a temporary encampment

Winnipeg, MB – At 7:40 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021 the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a temporary encampment in the 100 block of Higgins Avenue.

When crews arrived on-scene, they encountered a large fire engulfing several of the improvised shelters, with heat from the fire damaging nearby hydro lines. Surrounding structures were protected until the utility lines were disconnected. The fire was declared under control at 7:59 p.m.

Portion of Carlton Street to close this weekend

Winnipeg, MB – Southbound Carlton Street, from Graham Avenue to St. Mary Avenue, will be closed on Saturday, October 9 at 6 a.m. until Sunday, October 10 at 6 p.m., for building construction.

Access to parking at 220 Hargrave St. (St. Mary’s Cathedral) and 242 Hargrave St. (True North Square) will be maintained with two-way traffic on Carlton Street north of St. Mary Avenue.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Hargrave Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 6:39 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a high-rise apartment building in the 100 block of Hargrave Street.

Due to the potential for high life hazards when dealing with a high-rise structure, a second alarm was called which increased the number apparatus on scene. When crews arrived, they found the flames and smoke coming from the building. An offensive attack was launched. The fire was declared under control at 7:09 p.m. and was contained to the suite of origin.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Stradbrook Avenue and Autumnwood Drive

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two fires.

Stradbrook Avenue fire

At 10:13 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 WFPS responded to reports of a fire at a two-and-a-half storey, multi-family residence in the 500 block of Stradbrook Avenue.

When crews arrived on-scene, they observed fire and smoke coming from the structure. They launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 10:25 p.m.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Redwood Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 3:53 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a one-and-a-half storey, side-by-side duplex in the 500 block of Redwood Avenue.

When crews arrived on-scene, they encountered heavy smoke coming from the building. They launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 4:24 p.m.

All occupants of the duplex self-evacuated prior to crew arrival.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Brock Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 8:06 p.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a detached garage in the 400 block of Brock Street.

When crews arrived on-scene, they found heavy smoke coming from the structure with flames extending to the adjacent house. Crews launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 9:09 p.m.

Nobody was in the house at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
