Winnipeg, MB – At 11:17 a.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2024, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews responded to reports of fire at a vacant, boarded up, two storey house in the 400 block of Redwood Avenue.
Smoke was coming from the structure when crews arrived on scene. They launched an offensive fire attack and used hose lines to apply water to the fire. It was declared under control at 11:37 a.m.
Firefighters completed a search of the structure and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.
The house was previously damaged by fires in November 2023, December 2023 and October 2024. Damage estimates are not available.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
If residents see someone actively entering a vacant structure, or removing boards from windows or doors, they should report the incident immediately by calling the Winnipeg Police Service at 911.
Anyone who sees that boarded windows or doors have been breached, but did not see someone actively entering or attempting to enter a structure should report the incident to 311.
