Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Redwood Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 1:02 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews responded to reports of fire at a vacant, boarded up, two storey house in the 400 block of Redwood Avenue.

Smoke was coming from the structure when crews arrived on scene. They launched an offensive fire attack and used hose lines to apply water to the fire. It was declared under control at 1:36 p.m.

Firefighters completed a search of the structure and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.

The house was previously damaged by fires in November 2023 and December 2023. Damage estimates are not available.

WFPS’ Accelerant Detection K9 assisted fire investigators at the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
