Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to a house fire last evening and another this morning.
Cardero Place fire
At 9:07 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a single-family bungalow on Cardero Place.
When crews arrived to the scene, they found smoke in the house. Crews entered the building and fought the fire from the interior. The fire was quickly brought under control.
All occupants of the building self-evacuated upon the activation of the smoke alarm. They were assessed by on-scene paramedics but did not require transport to hospital.
Preliminary observations suggest the fire was accidental, caused by a malfunctioning bathroom exhaust fan.
No damage estimates are available at this time.
