Tomorrow is By-Election Day

Released: June 5, 2024 at 10 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg is reminding citizens that Thursday, June 6 is By-Election Day for the 2024 School Trustee By-Election in Louis Riel School Division Ward 1. Eligible voters will have the opportunity to cast a ballot for one candidate for the Office of School Trustee.

Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voters are encouraged to check their voter’s notice for their election day voting location and bring their notice with them when they head to the polls.

If an eligible voter has not received their notice, they are encouraged to visit winnipeg.ca/wheredoivote to determine their designated voting location.

There are three ways for residents to determine their specific election day voting location:

  1. Check their voter’s notice (information is in the large yellow box on the left-hand side of the card)
  2. Visit winnipeg.ca/wheredoivote and type in their current home address
  3. Contact 311

All voters are reminded that they are required to bring valid identification that shows their name and current address – such as a driver’s license – when they go to vote. In the absence of a driver's license or enhanced identification card, any two documents that together show the person's name and current address will also be accepted. Both documents must display the voter’s name.
