Arlington Bridge to temporarily close for inspection and maintenance

Winnipeg, MB - The public is advised that the Arlington Bridge over the Canadian Pacific Railway yards from Logan Avenue to Dufferin Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from Saturday, March 14 at 7:00 a.m. to Sunday, March 15 at 6:00 p.m. The bridge is being closed for inspection and minor maintenance that cannot be undertaken with vehicular traffic on the bridge.

Motorists are reminded to allow additional travel time. Alternate routes include McPhillips Street to the west and Salter Street to the east.

The west sidewalk on the bridge will remain open during this period to maintain pedestrian access.

City continues to study crossing solutions for the North End
The Arlington Bridge is nearing the end of its usable life and the City is undertaking a study to determine the best possible plan to move people and goods safely and efficiently across the CPR Yards when the Arlington Bridge closes.

The CPR Yards Crossing Study will look at a number of options for a new crossing in the area and at improving existing crossings of the CPR Yards between McPhillips Street and Salter Street. Visit cprcrossing.winnipeg.ca to learn more about the project and participate in online interactive surveys. The next community workshop will take place:
