Winnipeg Public Library invites applications for the next Maker-in-Residence

Released: March 24, 2025 at 1:36 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB – Winnipeg Public Library is seeking applications for its next Maker-in-Residence.

The Maker-in-Residence (MiR) program connects library visitors with Winnipeg-based professional makers who have skills in visual/creative arts, technology, and/or digital media. Makers-in-Residence should be passionate about making/creating, skilled in teaching and mentoring, and excited to work with people of all backgrounds and abilities.

During their term, the Maker-in-Residence will offer several weekly, open studio drop-in times at Millennium Library’s ideaMILL makerspace. They will provide the public with opportunities to learn new skills and gain insight into the maker’s creative process, as well as use tools available at ideaMILL. The MiR will also conduct at least five scheduled public workshops.

Applications are now open for the next two residencies. Each Maker-in-Residence term runs for 16 weeks. Term one is from June through September. Term two is from mid-August through mid-December. The application deadline for both is Monday, April 14, 2025.
