Winnipeg, MB – At 12:47 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, two-storey multi-family residence in the 300 block of Redwood Avenue.
When crews arrived to the scene, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure. They entered and fought the fire from the interior, declaring the fire under control at 1:38 p.m.
Firefighters completed a search of the structure, and no occupants were found. There were no injuries reported.
The fire is under investigation. The house was damaged in previous fires in August 2024 and February 2024. Damage estimates are not available.
If residents see someone actively entering a vacant structure, or removing boards from windows or doors, they should report the incident immediately by calling the Winnipeg Police Service at 911.
Anyone who sees that boarded windows or doors have been breached, but did not see someone actively entering or attempting to enter a structure should report the incident to 311.
