Nairn Avenue overpass rehabilitation progresses

Released: August 29, 2014 at 10:21 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB - The Nairn Avenue overpass rehabilitation project over the CPR tracks will reach a major milestone on Monday, September 1, as work on the north half of the overpass is completed. The entire overpass project remains on schedule for a completion date in early November 2014.

At 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 1, one lane in each direction will be open on each side of the overpass to begin the transition of closing the south portion of the overpass.

At approximately 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, traffic flow will transition fully to the north section of the overpass. One lane will be open in each direction on the north side of the overpass, while the south side remains closed for rehabilitation.

With the start of the school year, motorists may experience an increase in traffic delays as a result of additional traffic. Motorists are reminded to allow added travel time and to use alternative routes in the area to get to their destinations.
