Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two recent fires
Silver Springs Bay fire
At 3:52 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey house on Silver Springs Bay.
When crews arrived at the scene, they found smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters entered the structure and launched an interior fire attack. The fire was declared under control at 4:35 a.m.
All occupants of the house safely self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. No injuries were reported.
The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
Osborne Street fire
At 8:50 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, a fire broke out in the engine compartment of a WFPS fire truck near the intersection of Osborne Street and Morley Avenue. Firefighters discovered the fire after returning to the truck from a call.
No one was injured. Dispatchers sent another fire engine to the scene, and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not yet available.
