Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Elgin Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 12:55 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a fire in a one-and-a-half storey house in the 400 block of Elgin Avenue. The fire was first reported by members of the Downtown Community Safety Partnership.

When WFPS crews arrived on scene, they found smoke and flames coming from the house. They launched a fire attack, declaring the fire under control at 1:42 a.m.

Firefighters searched the house and no occupants were found. There were no injuries reported.

The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
