Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Sherbrook Street

Released: March 31, 2026 at 8:45 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB – At 6:52 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a structure fire in a three-storey apartment building in the 400 block of Sherbrook Street.

At the scene, firefighters found flames and smoke coming from the building. Firefighters attacked the fire with an offensive attack while paramedics assessed and transported one patient to the hospital in unstable condition. Everyone else safely evacuated from the building.

Firefighters declared the fire under control at 7:20 p.m. The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available. Preliminary observations suggest the fire was contained to the suite of origin.
