Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Silver Avenue and Tyndall Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – Since yesterday, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) has responded to two structure fires.

Silver Avenue fire

At 7:44 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a high-rise apartment in the 3200 block of Silver Avenue. Due to the safety concerns associated with a high-rise building, WFPS dispatched more crews to the incident.

At the scene, crews found smoke coming from the building. Firefighters attacked the fire and declared the fire under control at 8:18 p.m. Most damage was contained to the suite where the fire started.

No damage estimates are available. The fire is under investigation.

Tyndall Avenue fire

At 8:03 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a townhouse in the 0-100 block of Tyndall Avenue.

At the scene, crews saw smoke coming from the structure. Firefighters attacked the fire and declared it under control at 8:43 p.m. Paramedics transported one patient to hospital in stable condition. The City of Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services team responded to the scene to provide temporary support to displaced residents.

No damage estimates are available. The fire is under investigation.
