Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Princess Street and Meredith Bay

Winnipeg, MB – Overnight, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two structure fires.

Princess Street fire

At 8:54 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, WFPS responded to a fire in a 10-storey structure in the 200 block of Princess Street. Due to the life-safety risks associated with a high-rise building, an additional complement of resources was dispatched to the scene.


At the scene, crews located a fire in a suite and extinguished it. The fire was under control by 9:14 a.m. No injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Meredith Bay fire

At 10:35 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house on Meredith Bay.

At the scene, crews saw smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire and declared it under control at 11:11 p.m. No injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
