Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to two overnight structure fires.
Bannerman Avenue fire
At 12:50 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a single-storey, mixed-use commercial and residential building in the 400 block of Bannerman Avenue.
When crews arrived at the scene, they encountered smoke and flames coming from the building. Firefighters launched an offensive fire attack, declaring the fire under control at 1:21 a.m.
Firefighters searched the building and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.
The fire remains under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
Munroe Avenue fire
At 3:57 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, WFPS crews responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey, mixed-use commercial and residential building in the 600 block of Munroe Avenue.
Upon arrival on scene, crews quickly extinguished a small fire.
A search inside the building was completed and no occupants were found. There were no injuries reported.
The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
