Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Nairn Avenue

Released: January 28, 2026 at 7 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB – At 2:25 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a commercial building in the 800 block of Nairn Avenue.

At the scene, firefighters found heavy flames coming from the building. Firefighters are using aerial ladders to spray water on the fire as it is unsafe to attempt to enter the building.

No injuries have been reported.

Crews are expected to be on scene throughout the morning. Nairn Avenue is closed in both directions from Chester Street to Kent Street. Please avoid the area.
