Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Pritchard Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 8:08 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, two-storey duplex in the 200 block of Pritchard Avenue.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found heavy smoke coming from the building. They entered and launched an interior fire attack, declaring the fire under control at 8:50 p.m.

Crews searched the structure and no occupants were found. There were no injuries reported.

The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.

Anyone who sees someone actively entering a vacant building, or removing boards from windows or doors from a building, should call 911 to report the incident immediately.

 If you notice breached windows or doors but do not see anyone actively entering or trying to enter the building, report the incident to 311 by phone or online.
