Released: December 19, 2025 at 8:30 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to two structure fires this afternoon.

Allegheny Drive fire

At 5:41 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a three-storey condominium building in the 800 block of Allegheny Drive.

Upon arrival on scene, firefighters encountered smoke and flames coming from the building. They launched an offensive fire attack, declaring the fire under control at 6:06 p.m. Damages were primarily contained to the suite where the fire originated.

The City’s Emergency Social Services team responded to provide temporary support to displaced residents.

A firefighter required a medical assessment at the scene and was transported to hospital for further evaluation.

Preliminary observations suggest the fire was accidental, caused by an electrical failure. Damage estimates are not available.

Loudoun Road fire

At 1:20 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, WFPS crews responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey house in the 1800 block of Loudoun Road.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found smoke coming from the house. Firefighters entered and launched an interior fire attack. Because the house is outside the City of Winnipeg water district, WFPS water tankers were dispatched to shuttle water to the scene. The fire was declared under control at 2:02 p.m.

Crews searched the house and confirmed no one was inside. There were no injuries reported.

The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
