Garbage and recycling paused for the day; Brady Road landfill and 4R depots closed

Winnipeg, MB – Snow clearing and ice control crews are hard at work responding to the ongoing weather system.

We have been clearing main roads since around 1 a.m. and will continue re-plowing throughout the morning to manage blowing snow.

We started plowing sidewalks and pathways citywide at 7 a.m. We will continue scheduling work based on the street priority system.

Service impacts

We have cancelled today’s garbage and recycling collection.

We anticipate those scheduled for Thursday service will be collected tomorrow (Friday). Those with Friday pick-up will be collected Saturday.

The following waste management facilities are closed for the day:

  • The landfill at Brady Road Resource Management Facility
  • All 4R Winnipeg Depots

Traffic impacts

We expect citywide traffic delays as blowing snow continues to affect roads.

Motorists should drive to conditions and use extreme caution when near heavy equipment.

Parking bans

A reminder that the annual winter route parking ban is in effect. There is no parking between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. on streets designated as winter routes. Those parked in violation may be ticketed and towed to the towing company’s compound.

Winter routes are marked by signage. They can also be found:
