North Main Street reopened after water main break

Released: December 13, 2025 at 8:30 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB – Main Street is reopened in both directions at the site of the North End Wastewater Treatment Plant water main break.

We reopened the road late last night after crews worked with a grader to remove slush and ice from the area.

Crews applied traction control until the road was safely passable. We'll continue to monitor road conditions there throughout the weekend and add additional sand as necessary.

We remind motorists to drive carefully through the area and - regardless of location - be aware of slippery conditions.
