Released: October 23, 2025 at 4:16 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB – Curbside yard waste collection for 2025 is coming to an end.

  • Yard waste collection in Area A will end the week of October 27 – October 31, 2025
  • Yard waste collection in Area B will end the week of November 3 – November 7, 2025

Residents can find out if their yard waste collection is “area A” or “area B” by:

Residents can put yard waste in:

  • Any reusable container without a lid (e.g., plastic tubs, old blue boxes, old metal or plastic garbage containers)
  • Cardboard boxes
  • Paper yard waste bags

Containers should not be broken or damaged.

We accept Halloween pumpkins through the yard waste collection program and the new food waste drop off stations. Candles and decorations must be removed.

Residents should place their yard waste containers next to their recycling and garbage carts. Leave an arm’s length between yard waste containers and recycling and garbage carts.

Residents can also take their yard waste to the 4R Winnipeg Depots located at 1825 Brady Rd., 1120 Pacific Ave., and 429 Panet Rd. For more information on the 4R Winnipeg Depots, including hours of operation, please visit: winnipeg.ca/4Rdepot.

A reminder to not rake yard waste material or debris onto the street. This can plug the street drains and cause ponding problems. It can also increase the risk of basement flooding.
