Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to two structure fires this afternoon.
Talbot Avenue fire
At 1:55 p.m. on October 19, 2025, WFPS crews responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, one-and-a-half storey house in the 700 block of Talbot Avenue.
When crews arrived at the scene, they found smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters launched a defensive fire attack. Once conditions improved, they transitioned to an interior fire attack. The fire was declared extinguished at 4:14 p.m.
Crews searched the house, and no people were found. No injuries were reported.
The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available. The house was previously damaged by fire on October 17, 2025.
Main Street fire
At 2:48 p.m. on October 19, 2025, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, single-storey commercial building in the 800 block of Main Street.
Upon arrival on scene, crews found smoke coming from the building. Firefighters attacked the fire from inside the building, declaring the fire under control at 3:29 p.m.
Crews completed a search of the building, and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.
The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available. The building was damaged by several previous fires.
