Downtown road closures coming to accommodate Truth & Reconciliation walk

Winnipeg, MB – A number of Downtown streets will close for a portion of tomorrow, September 30, 2025, to accommodate the Southern Chiefs Organization Healing Walk & Pow Wow.

Northbound Edmonton Street will close from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The following streets will close from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

  • Westbound Forks Market Road from Israel Asper Way to the Forks

  • Northbound Israel Asper Way from Forks Market Road to York Avenue

  • Westbound York Avenue from Israel Asper Way to Main Street

  • Northbound Main Street from Portage Avenue to York Avenue

  • Eastbound Portage Avenue from Main Street to Edmonton Street

Eastbound York Avenue will close between Edmonton Street and Carlton Street from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Southbound Main Street between York Avenue and Portage Avenue will close midday when the walk is active on Main Street.
