Advance voting for 2025 by-election starts Monday

Winnipeg, MB – Advance voting for the 2025 by-election begins Monday, September 29, 2025.

Eligible voters in each of the wards will have the opportunity to cast a ballot for a candidate for City Councillor – Elmwood-East Kildonan Ward, School Trustee for Louis Riel School Division Ward 3, or School Trustee for Pembina Trails School Division Ward 1.

Advance voting locations

  • City Clerk’s Department – Main Floor, 510 Main Street
    • September 29 – October 22
    • Weekdays 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. except on October 16 when polls are open 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
    • Eligible voters from all by-election wards can vote here

Identification Requirements

All voters are reminded to bring valid identification. In the absence of a driver's license or Manitoba identification card, any two documents that together show the person's name and current address will also be accepted. Both documents must display the voter’s name.
