Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Donald Street, Riverton Avenue, and Garry Street

Winnipeg, MB – Since last night, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to three structure fires.

Donald Street

At 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a high-rise building in the 100 block of Donald Street. Due to the high life safety hazards of a fire in a high-rise building, additional crews were dispatched.

At the scene, firefighters attacked a fire, declaring it under control at 11:31 p.m. No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation.

Riverton Avenue

At 1:44 a.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2025, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a garage in the 300 block of Riverton Avenue.

At the scene, crews found two garages on fire with heavy smoke and flames coming from them.  Firefighters attacked the fire, declaring it under control at 2:27 a.m.

No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Garry Street

At 7:36 a.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2025, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a commercial building in the 200 block of Garry Street.

At the scene, crews found smoke and flames coming from the building. Firefighters attacked the fire. They used a drone to provide situational awareness. Firefighters declared the fire under control at 9:28 a.m.

No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
