Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Southwalk Bay

Winnipeg, MB – At 7:39 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2025, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a house on Southwalk Bay.

At the scene, crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire and protected nearby homes from spreading fire. Firefighters declared the fire under control at 9:25 p.m.

One firefighter sustained an injury during the response. Paramedics assessed the firefighter and no transportation to hospital was required. A neighbouring house was temporarily evacuated as a precaution.

Preliminary observations suggest one home is expected to be a total loss. Another home sustained damage from fire. The fire is under investigation.
