Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Herbert Avenue and Alexander Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – Since yesterday, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two structure fires.

Herbert Avenue

At 2:17 a.m., on Thursday, July 31, 2025, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house in the 500 block of Herbert Avenue.

At the scene, crews saw smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire, declaring it under control at 2:48 a.m.

No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Alexander Avenue

At 6:04 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house in the 1200 block of Alexander Avenue.

Firefighters used a defensive attack until they could safely switch to an offensive attack. They declared the fire under control at 7:11 a.m.

No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
