Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Pacific Avenue and Powers Street

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to two recent structure fires.  

Pacific Avenue fire

At 4:11 a.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2025, the WFPS responded to reports of a vehicle fire in the 500 block of Pacific Avenue.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found the vehicle fire had extended to a carport and the exterior of the adjacent house. The fire was quickly brought under control before it spread to the interior of the house.

No injuries were reported.

Damage estimates are not available. The fire is under investigation.

 

Powers Street fire

At 1:10 a.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2025, WFPS crews responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey residence in the 400 block of Powers Street.

Upon arrival on scene, crews found heavy smoke coming from the structure. An offensive fire attack was launched, and the fire was declared under control at 1:46 a.m.

Firefighters used a ladder to rescue an individual from the second floor. The person was assessed by on-scene paramedics but did not require transport to hospital. One cat was located deceased.

Damage estimates are not available. The incident remains under investigation.
