Winnipeg, MB – At 7:53 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a house in the 600 block of Elgin Avenue.
At the scene, crews found heavy flames and smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire from the outside as it was unsafe to enter the house. As conditions improved, firefighters switched to an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 10:24 a.m.
Paramedics assessed three patients and no transportation to hospital was required.
The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available, but the home sustained significant damage from fire, smoke and water.
