Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Winona Street and Euclid Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – Overnight, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two structure fires.

Winona Street fire

At 3:23 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house in the 800 block of Winona Street.

At the scene, crews saw heavy smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire, declaring it under control at 4 a.m. Firefighters searched the house to make sure no one was inside.

No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Euclid Avenue fire

At 4:55 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a converted residential dwelling in the 100 block of Euclid Avenue.

At the scene, crews found a well-involved fire with heavy flames and smoke. Firefighters attacked the fire, switching between offensive and defensive attacks as conditions changed. They used an aerial ladder truck to spray water on the fire.

Firefighters evacuated two neighbouring homes as a precaution. A Winnipeg Transit bus was dispatched to the scene to provide temporary shelter for those involved. The City of Winnipeg Emergency Social Services responded to the scene to provide temporary support to displaced residents.

Firefighters continue to work on scene at this fire and are expected to be there throughout the morning. Please avoid the area.

No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
