Phase 2 of public engagement now open

Winnipeg, Manitoba – The City of Winnipeg is looking at building a new recreation centre in southeast Winnipeg and is seeking feedback from residents on the design.

The proposed Bonavista Recreation Centre would be located in Fraipont Park, near the intersection of Evelyne Reese Boulevard and Warde Avenue. It would improve access to recreation and leisure programs in southeast Winnipeg. The design of this facility includes new outdoor park amenities, a gymnasium, and multi-purpose rooms.

In fall 2024, the City gathered input from residents on what programs and amenities they would like to see. We have used that input to develop a draft design. We are now looking for feedback on that draft design.

Residents can provide their feedback during the second phase of public engagement through an online survey, available until Monday, June 30, 2025. They can also attend an open house at the Southdale Community Centre on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
