Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Archibald Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 2:11 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, single-storey commercial/industrial warehouse in the 0 to 100 block of Archibald Street. The fire was first reported by on-duty members of the Downtown Community Safety Partnership.

When WFPS crews arrived at the scene, they found smoke and flames coming from the building. They launched an interior fire attack, declaring the fire under control at 3:00 a.m.

Crews searched the building and no occupants were found. There were no injuries reported.

The fire is under investigation.

Damage estimates are not available. The building was damaged by previous fires, initially in November 2023.

Anyone who sees someone actively entering a vacant building, or removing boards from windows or doors from a building, should call 911 to report the incident immediately.

If you notice boarded windows or doors that have been breached, but you do not see someone actively entering or trying to enter the building, report the incident to 311 by phone or online.
