Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Magnus Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 3:27 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a fire in a house in the 300 block of Magnus Avenue. A WFPS fire engine that was travelling by the house noticed the fire and called it in.

At the scene, crews saw smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire, declaring it under control at 3:40 p.m.

All occupants got out safely before crews arrived. Paramedics assessed two patients, and they did not require transportation to the hospital. The City of Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services team responded to the scene to support affected residents.

Crews found one dog deceased at the scene. The City of Winnipeg’s Animal Services Agency responded to provide assistance.

The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
