Winnipeg, MB – Winnipeg Public Library is seeking applications to be the 2025-2026 Writer-in-Residence.
The Writer-in-Residence works with emerging Manitoba writers through individual consultations online, in person, by email, and by phone. The Writer-in-Residence also offers group workshops and a writing circle. The residency includes time to work on a personal writing project.
The residency term will run from October 1, 2025 until April 30, 2026. Applications are due Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
The Writer-in-Residence program started in 1985, and this upcoming term will be the Library’s 36th Writer-in-Residence.

The Writer-in-Residence program is funded by the City of Winnipeg, Winnipeg Public Library, and the Friends of the Winnipeg Public Library. Province-wide access to the program is supported through funding provided to Winnipeg Public Library by Manitoba Sport, Culture, Heritage and Tourism.
