Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Selkirk Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 5:08 a.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2025, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a vacant and boarded two-storey residential building in the 200 block of Selkirk Avenue.

At the scene, firefighters saw smoke coming from the building. Firefighters attacked the fire from the outside as it was unsafe to enter the building. Firefighters declared the fire under control at 5:55 a.m.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

If you see someone actively entering a vacant building, or removing boards from a building’s windows or doors, call 911 to report the incident immediately.

If you notice boarded windows or doors that have been breached, but you do not see someone actively entering or trying to enter the building, report it to 311 by phone or online.
