Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Ellice Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 6:46 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a monitored alarm in a three-storey apartment building in the 600 block of Ellice Avenue.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found smoke in the building. Upon investigation, they located a fire in one of the suites. They fought the fire from the interior, declaring the fire under control at 7:14 p.m.

Occupants of the building safely self-evacuated. No injuries were reported.

The City of Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services team responded to the scene to provide temporary support to affected residents.

The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
